Launched in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1711, The Newcastle Weekly Courant continued until 26 February 1910, making it one of the longest-lived provincial papers in Britain. It was circulated throughout Newcastle, North and South Shields, Sunderland, Durham, and the Northern counties.
