The Boston Sunday Globe (Boston, MA, USA)

23 August 1927

Founded by Maturin Ballou in 1872, the Boston Daily Globe was managed by the dynamic Charles H. Taylor until his death in 1921, whereupon ownership passed to his son William. In addition to using sensational headlines and lurid crime stories to boost circulation, Taylor Sr. emphasized feature materials such as fiction serials by prominent novelists.
